Owl Butterfly

The distinctive patterns of the Owl Butterfly are nature's smart deterrent to help protect it from predators. Eye-mimicry confuses Great Tits into thinking it is an Owl - resembling a Pigmy Owl. The colour of this wonderful butterfly and its textural design will also blend with tree bark as a form of camouflage. In the Butterfly House they contrasted against the lush foliage which enhanced their intricate patterns. Bx
