Echinacea & Bee - Study

The intricacy of flowers fascinates me. The centre is often unnoticed; our eyes focus on the flamboyant bright coloured petals. This Echinacea breaks the rules, the carpels /stamen are a focal point with their glorious frilly display. Bees colonise on drifts of these amazing late pollinators. A close up shot reveals more. Photographed in the gardens at Hauser & Wirth - garden design by Piet Oudolf. Bx
